You can download the Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier (FCIV), at Install Spiceworks _ C:\>fciv -md5 c:\Users\gorilla\Downloads\Spiceworks.exe // // File Checksum Integrity Verifier version 2.05. Once you are ready to run your checksum, then pull up a command prompt, and check the hash as in the below example.

If you don’t want to do this, you’ll have to give both the full path to the tool, and the full path to the spiceworks.exe file. I dropped the executable for this file in c:\windows\system32 so that I don’t need to use the full path when using the tool. I used the Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier (FCIV), a command line tool, to verify the md5 checksum. Once you get to the “Thank you for downloading Spiceworks!” page, the MD5 Checksum will be displayed.

I’m sure you can run it from a virtual machine on a Linux or Mac fine, but I haven’t actually done it. One note is that is has to go on a Windows machine. These instructions will be the same regardless of where you put your Spiceworks instance.
